COLORANT-CONTAINING POLYMERIC FINE PARTICLE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide colorant-containing polymeric fine particles having near infrared absorptive power whose polymeric particles have a fine particle diameter and contain a colorant at a high concentration and which have excellent transparency and sufficient coloring power and can exhibit a clear tone and high chroma when used in an ink, a coating material and the like, and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The colorant-containing polymeric fine particles contain a near infrared absorptive pigment as the colorant and have an average particle diameter of 20-500 nm. The method for manufacturing the colorant-containing polymeric fine particles comprises emulsifying an oil phase containing a polymerizable monomer and a near infrared absorptive pigment as the colorant in the presence of a surface active agent into water to form a colorant-containing monomer emulsion, and then polymerizing the monomer in the presence of a polymerization initiator to form a colorant-containing polymer emulsion.
