PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of operation feeling occurring when a neutral position is not secured by influence of inertia of an electric motor at gear disconnecting shift operation for a shift operation device reducing shift operating force of a driver by generating assist force by the electric motor at shift operation of a shift lever for shift operating a transmission of a vehicle. SOLUTION: Current supply to the electric motor is stopped before a shift rail reaches the neutral position at the gear disconnecting shin operation in order to prevent an overstroke based on inertia. Thus, the operation feeling is improved.
