PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generating apparatus for charging a battery which can carry out heat collection from high temperature exhaust gas discharged to an airport by operating an auxiliary power unit of an aircraft, and reduction of suspended particulate, air pollutants, and in addition, can charge a plurality of batteries used in the airport and the aircraft itself by changing the collected thermal energy to electric power. SOLUTION: The power generating apparatus for charging a battery utilizing exhaust heat discharged from an auxiliary power unit of an aircraft comprising a Starling engine and a generator connected to the Starling engine, the Starling engine and generator being mounted on an upper surface of a lifter installed on a travelling wagon so as to closely face an exhaust nozzle of the auxiliary power unit of the aircraft, a hood for collecting exhaust gas discharged from the APU arranged around a heater of the Starling engine, a guide vane arranged in the front of the hood to make the flow of the exhaust gas smooth, a purifying filter arranged at a discharge portion on a rear surface of the hood, a cooling unit arranged on the traveling wagon so as to be coupled with a cooler of the Stirling engine, and a battery charger connected to the generator.
