PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having high sensitivity, capable of keeping stable potential during repeated use, showing stable image characteristics without having to depend on the use environment such as temperature and humidity, and hardly causing transfer memory even in a reversal development system. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer, containing a halogen compound expressed by the following formula (1). In the formula (1), each of R1 to R3 is a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, alkyl group which may have substituents, alkoxy group which may have substituents, aryloxy group which may have substituents, aralkyl group which may have substituents, aryl group which may have substituents, or heterocyclic group which may have substituents, however, at least one of R1 to R3 is a chlorine atom or bromine atom, and R4 is an alkyl group which may have substituents, alkoxy group which may have substituents, aryloxy group which may have substituents, aralkyl group which may have substituents, aryl group which may have substituents, or heterocyclic group which may have substituents.
