PURPOSE: A method for predicting crown considering thickness profile in width direction of hot rolled strip is provided to predict strip crown of high accuracy by predicting strip crown with strip widthwise thickness profile being divided into two sections. CONSTITUTION: The method for predicting crown considering thickness profile in width direction of hot rolled strip comprises the steps of dividing the strip widthwise thickness profile into a first section that is 25 to 100 mm from the edge of a strip(3) in which influence by edge drop or flatness deformation of work rolls(2) is directly inherited to the strip(3), and a second section that is 100 mm to the central part of the strip from the edge of the strip which is greatly influenced by thermal expansion and wear of the work rolls(2) and axial bending of the work rolls(2); and predicting the overall strip crown generation amount by the calculated value of the mathematical expression 8 by putting the calculated values together after applying model of the mathematical expression 7 to the strip crown generation amount of the first section and applying model of the mathematical expression 6 to the strip crown generation amount of the second section.
