PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing mechanism for electronic equipment capable of preventing an object placed on a top cover from dropping down at opening/closing the top cover, and to provide an image reading device and an image forming device. SOLUTION: The mechanism is provided with a supporting member 4 for controlling the opening/closing member so as to be opened/closed while keeping the attitude of the opening/closing member nearly constant on the top of the device.
