PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling making humidity information approach necessary for control of a humidifier to an atmospheric humidity sensed by a user. SOLUTION: The method for controlling the humidifier comprises the steps of deciding whether the humidifier is during stopping; judging whether a drive start signal is input from a remote controller if it is during stopping; and starting a remote control interlocking drive, when the drive start signal is input from the remote controller (steps S1→S2→S3). The method also comprises the steps of judging whether an input of a drive stop signal is present if the humidifier is during stopping, and further judging whether a drive switch of a humidifier body is pressed (steps S1→S11→S12). The method also comprises the steps of judging whether remote control interlocking operating is in progress in a step S4, of lighting a remote control interlocking drive lamp (display 11) if 'Yes' (steps S4→S5); confirming the presence or absence of the input of a humidity signal from the remote controller; and switching to a drive mode, if there is no humidity signal input from the remote controller.
