PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having superior durability, good sensitivity, and without crystallization on the drum surface, even when the photoreceptor is used for a device for image formation having a blade cleaning process. SOLUTION: The photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer, containing at least a charge-generating agent or charge transfer agent in a binder resin. The binder resin contains polycarbonate resin, consisting of plurality of the same structural units expressed by general formula [1] and plurality of the same structural units expressed by general formula [2]. The weight ratio of plurality of the same structural units expressed by the general formulae [1] and [2] is in the range of 40:60 to 10:90. The sum of plurality of the same structural units expressed by the general formulae [1] and [2] with respect to the total amount of the binder resin is >=60 wt.%. In formula [1], Z is a 5-7C cycloalkylidene group which may have substituents. In formula [2], R1 is a hydrogen atom or methyl group and Z is a 5-7C cycloalkylidene group which may have substituents.
