PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray detector which minimizes increase in the data processing time of an image signal and causes no deterioration in image quality, even if image is enlarged. SOLUTION: Pixel electrodes 14 of active matrix substrates 21 of the X-ray detector are made high in density at the center part and low at the peripheral part. According to the density, gate lines 19 and readout signal lines 20 are wired. A read-out signal is passed via an A/D converter form an amplifying circuit 7, processed by an external TV circuit 9, and displayed on an external monitor 10 after scan conversion. Pixels are made high in density only at the center part and a sharp image can be obtained through enlarging operation; and the density of the peripheral part is made low, so that increase in processing time can be suppressed by minimizing the amount of signal data.
