PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of an image failure such as fogging when a body to be electrified cannot be electrified to a specified potential when the time for electrification is <=0. 1 second in a scorotron method by providing an electrifying device with high electrifying efficiency where the body to be electrified can be electrified to the specified potential even when the time for electrification is <=0.1 second. SOLUTION: In the device, the efficiency of the electrification can be made high by changing resistance of a shield 2a and a grid plate 2b from 107 to 108Ωand the body to be electrified can be electrified to the specified potential even when the time for the electrification is <=0.1 second.
