PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for the heat-treatment of a plastic material in an organic solvent enabling the removal of sublimate (solid component) mixed into the recovered organic solvent with a simple means and provide a method for the heat-treatment. SOLUTION: A mixture of a plastic material and an organic solvent is heated in a heat-treating tank 1 and waste gas discharged from the heat-treating tank 1 is guided through a waste gas guiding line 2. The waste gas guiding line 2 is provided with a condenser 3 to separate and condense the organic solvent in the waste gas and the organic solvent condensed by the condenser 3 is returned to the heat-treating tank through a solvent return line 5. A filter 16 and a solvent-heating means 17 are placed between the condenser 3 and the solvent return line 5.
