PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for optically resolving an optically active dioxopyrrolidine derivative by which solid-liquid separating operations are easily performed and an improvement is made so as to obtain a high yield. SOLUTION: The racemic modification of the optically active dioxopyrrolidine derivative represented by the following general formula (I) [wherein, * denotes the R-isomer or the S-isomer; R denotes a 1-5C straight-chain or a 1-5C branched alkyl group; X denotes hydrogen atom, amino group, benzylamino group, (benzyloxycarbonyl)amino group, (t-butoxyxcarbonyl)amino group or pyrrole group] and a basic resolving agent are heated, dissolved in a good solvent and, as necessary, cooled and a poor solvent is added to thereby selectively deposit a salt of the R-isomer (a salt with the basic resolving agent). |
