METHOD FOR STICKING AND FIXING CONSTANT POLARIZATION OPTICAL FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sticking and fixing method by which the deterioration of an optical fiber characteristic owing to a hardening and contracting stress caused by local distortion generated when sticking and fixing a constant polarization optical fiber to a ferrule by heat treatment using a high hard resin adhesive is prevented. SOLUTION: In the method for sticking and fixing the constant polarization optical fiber 1 inserted into the ferrule 2 by heat treatment using the high hard resin adhesive 4, heat treatment is provided with a first heat treatment process for slowly hardening the high hard resin adhesive 4 and a second heat treatment process for finally hardening the adhesive 4. Thus, a ferrule assembly (optical connector) 10 having the same sticking strength as that in a conventional method and having an excellent extinction ratio characteristic of the optical fiber is obtained.
