PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door chain with a key which protects an engaging ring from being disengaged from a groove of an engaging fixture, by inserting the engaging ring attached to the door chain into the engaging groove of the engaging fixture mounted on a door, and locking the door. SOLUTION: The door chain inhibits opening of the door by engaging the engaging ring 14 arranged at an end of the chain fixed to a wall surface, with the engaging groove 4 of the engaging fixture 2 fixed onto an internal surface of the door. The engaging groove 4 has an opening 5 at an upper portion thereof, for penetrating the engaging ring 14 therethrough, and a notch 9 at a mid point thereof, for penetrating the engaging ring 14 therethrough. Then, a key is attached to the notch, which has a key body for blocking the notch so as to have the same width as that of the engaging groove when the door is locked.
