PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotator for car seats capable of being small-sized, lightweight and cost reduction as well as simplification of rotating work. SOLUTION: This rotator is provided with a pivot 16 extending downward to be protrusively-installed in an upper base 12. By freely inserting this pivot 16 into a long-shaped guide hole 20 on a lower base 14, the upper base can slide between locking position and rotating position to be connected to the lower base and supported. And a sliding plate 30 is lying between opposite faces of this upper base 12 and the lower base 14 as to enable the face-to-face contact. Additionally a locking mechanism is formed as a combination comprising a control means 32-1 to prevent at least sliding and rotation, and an engaging means 32-3 to prevent at least floating, so as to enable locking of each means only at a locking position and a specified angle of the upper base 12 against the lower base 14 and also enable releasing all together of locks for each means under releasing operation by a release mechanism 60.
