PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording apparatus of high performance which prevents sheets from floating towards an ink jet recording means, at low costs without increasing an interval between the ink jet recording means and the sheet. SOLUTION: A pressing member 113 at the non reference side has, as one part, a first pressing part 113a for preventing the sheet 401 of a letter size from floating and, a second pressing part 113b for preventing both the sheet 401 of the letter size and the sheet 501 of an A4 size from floating. Even when the pressing member 113 at the non reference side is a fixed one, it is possible to prevent left side end parts of sheets having different sheet breadths from floating to the recording head 101.
