PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently provide an optical film using a UV absorbent which is excellent without causing defects such as sticking on a release roll or carrying roll, and to provide a polarizing plate or a display device which uses the above optical film. SOLUTION: The optical film contains a UV absorbent expressed by general formula 1. In formula, R11 is an oxygen atom, nitrogen atom, sulfur atom or a substituents on a benzene ring through a carbonyl group, R12 is a hydrogen atom, aliphatic group, aromatic group or heterocyclic group, each of R13 to R16 is a hydrogen atom, aliphatic group, aromatic group or heterocyclic group and groups R11 to R16 are not substituted by halogen atoms.
