PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device where a recording medium can be removed in both directions above and below a fixing device at the time of inserting the fixing device to an image forming device main body. SOLUTION: When a nip contact/separation lever 35 is pulled up in order to release interlinkage for driving between the fixing device and the main body, a driving switching member operation lever 38 is turned around a revolving shaft 37, and a driving switching member 40 and a movable spacer 39 are moved toward the driving switching member operation lever 31 side by the pressing force of a spring 41, and linkage for driving between a driving linking member 43 and a gear A42 is released, and thus the recording medium can be removed in both directions above and below the fixing unit to improve the jam removal operability.
