PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external finder which need not be exchanged even in the case that the focal distance of the photographing lens of a still camera is changed. SOLUTION: This external finder 1 is an Albada type inverted Galilean finder in which an objective lens group 12 and an eyepiece group 13 are incorporated inside a lens barrel 10. The eyepiece group 13 is provided with a first lens 13b formed as a plano-convex lens and a flat plate glass 13a joined to the plane side of the first lens 13b. The side surface of the flat plate glass 13a to which the first lens 13b is joined is constituted as a visual field frame forming surface 14. First and second visual field frames 14a and 14b having mutually different sizes corresponding to the focal distance of a photographing lens 2a attached/detached to/from the still camera 2, to which the external finder 1 is attached, are formed on the visual field frame forming surface 14.
