PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a synchromesh automatic transmission preventing phenomena such as shift chock and gear squeak from being generated in downshifting occurring in abrupt braking by suppressing the continuous downshifting from a high speed gear. SOLUTION: This control device is provided with a shift select actuator 5 changing over gear steps 23-28 of a stepped transmission 3, a brake switch 17, accelerator position sensor 13 detecting accelerator openingα, an output rotation speed sensor 8 detecting a car speed Vr, and a gear stage control means 4 controlling the shift select actuator according to the shift determination based on various sensor signals. When the brake switch is turned on and a deceleration calculated from the car speed is a prescribed deceleration or less, the gear stage is moved to a neutral position so as to suspend the shift determination. |
