PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize miniaturization and cost-reduction of a retracting mechanism. SOLUTION: On door mirror device 10 for vehicle, a clutch plate 68 is engaged frictionally with a gear plate 62 by an energizing force of a compression coil spring 74. When imparting a rotary motion to the gear plate 62 through the driving of a motor 50, a retaining shield 38 is rotated by anti-action to the rotary motion, and a mirror 16 is retracted or disclosed through the clutch plate 68 stopping the rotation of the gear plate 62. At this time, by an energizing power of a helical compression spring 74, the contact of the clutch plate 68 and the gear plate 62 with pressure to a cam plate 44 of the retaining shield 38 is stopped by a shelf 36 of a rotary shaft 32. Thereby, a torque for rotating the retaining shield 38 can be mad small, and a small motor can be sued for the motor 50 and the gear plate 62 can be miniaturized, therefore, the miniaturization and the cost reduction of the retracting mechanism can be realized.
