PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet separating device provided with a constitution for completely preventing generation of abnormal sound by preventing resonance in a supporting structure due to vibration, even if the vibration is generated due to oscillation of a separating pad when a sheet is delivered and the sheet is not delivered. SOLUTION: The sheet separating device for separating sheets each other by utilizing a difference of coefficients of friction between the double-delivered sheets each other and a member for delivering the sheets is characterized by comprising a delivery member 13 used for a member for a delivery, the separating pad 12 abuttable on the delivery member 13, a holder 14 which supports the separating pad 12 and is mounted on an unmovable part 17 and a pressing means 15 which is mounted on the unmovable part 17 and presses the separating pad 12 toward the delivery member 13 and arranging a vibration absorbing member 18 capable of absorbing vibration of the separating pad 12 between the holder 14 and the pressing means 15.
