PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the temperature drop of a fixing roll in a double side mode in a fixing device where a recording material P, on which an unfixed toner image carried, is allowed to pass through the gap between the fixing roll and a pressure roll to fix the toner image by action of heat and pressure and a target temperature of the recording material P is lowered at the time of continuous feed of the recording material whose width is shorter than a maximum width size. SOLUTION: In the case of the double side mode and continuous feed of the recording material having a shorter width size, the time of drop of the target temperature of the fixing roll is delayed in comparison with that in the case of the single side mode and continuous feed of the recording material. |
