PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of sub-tanks and to prevent localization of the component concentrations and of the temperatures of a processing liquid. SOLUTION: A cascade tank 52D on the back bath side into which the rinsing water from a rinsing tank 22D flow and a circulating pipe 54C on a front bath side are connected by a cascade pipe 68D. There is therefore no need to provide sub-tanks with nozzles for connecting the cascade pipes. Since the rinsing water from the cascade pipes will not flow into the sub-tanks, the capacity of the sub-tanks may be made smaller. Furthermore, the washing water flowing through the cascade pipes is taken directly into the circulating system and therefore the stagnation of the water within the washing tank will not occur due to the differences in sp.gr.
