PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-forming device and image-forming method, which form satisfactory images and achieve a higher speed and making the size small. SOLUTION: A photosensitive material 18 extends over an exposure drum 24 and a transfer drum 36, and the images are transferred to image receiving paper 42 on the transfer drum 36, while the photosensitive material is exposed on the exposure drum 24. At this time, the photosensitive material 18 is fed intermittently by the exposure drum 24 and is continuously fed on a heating drum 36. Although there is a possibility that the transport nonuniformity on the photosensitive material 18 on the exposure drum 24 results by the transport on the heat drum 36 by a difference in this processing (feeding) speeds but a buffer B is disposed between the exposure drum 24 and the heat drum 36 and therefore the transport nonuniformity can be prevented and the proper image formation is made possible. Accordingly, the proximate arrangement of the exposure drum 24 and the heating drum 36 is possible, and since the successive transfer processing from the portions subjected to the exposure processing of the photosensitive material 18 can be made, the image-forming processing speed is improved.
