PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling method for incinerated ash and a cooling device for incinerated ash to effect high-efficient decrease of temperature by cooling mainly bottom incinerated ash of refuse without needing a large device (a long cooling and conveying means) and capable of suppressing the moisture content of cooled incinerated ahs to a low value. SOLUTION: Incinerated ash to be cooled is charged from one side of a vibration drum which vibrates about an eccentric axis. While sprinkling is being effected, cooled incinerated ash is taken out from the other and conveyed to an after-processing process. By effecting reflux of a part thereof, the incinerated ash is charged in the vibration drum again together with incinerated ash which is to be cooled, and the moisture content of incinerated ash removed from the after-processing process is regulated to a level of 2-5%.
