PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ultrafine false twist textured yarn having an improved depth and brightness of color, excellent in water absorptivity and a touch feeling and a calm and natural gloss when formed into a fabric. SOLUTION: This ultrafine false twist textured yarn comprises a micropore- forming agent-containing polyester prepared by adding a metal-containing phosphorus compound (the general formula) (R1 and R2 are each a monovalent organic group and R1 and R2 may be the same or different; M is an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal; and m is 1 when M is the alkali metal and 1/2 when M is the alkaline earth metal) in an amount of 0.5-3 mol% based on an acid component and an alkaline earth metal compound in a molar amount of 0.5-1.2 times based on the metal-containing phosphorus compound when synthesizing the polyester and has <=0.6 dtex single filament fineness, 1.2-2.5 average cross section flatness coefficient, 170-230 deg.C thermal stress peak temperature and 0.17-0.44 cN/dtex value of the thermal stress peak.
