PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize pitches between laser beams of subscanning direction in the main scanning direction with a low-cost and simple construction in a laser beam scanning device which scans a photoreceptor drum simultaneously by plural laser beams. SOLUTION: Laser beams LB1 and LB2 emitted from semiconductor laser LD1 and LD2 which emit the laser beams of different wave lengths are synthesized by a beam synthesizer 13 in a way that the main beams nearly coincide with each other. The synthesized beam LB is dispersed with a prism 3 on the basis of the difference in the refractive index due to the wave lengths of the laser beams, and deflected by a polygon mirror 5.
