PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly carry out operation, such as setting of photographing information and focusing to a photographing sample with an imaging device for a microscope. SOLUTION: The imaging device for the microscope has an imaging element 12 which picks up the sample image from a prescribed objective lens, a camera body 3 which includes the imaging element, a display means 5b which displays the sample image acquired by the imaging element 12 and an operation means 5a which controls the imaging operation by the imaging element 12. The camera body 3 and the display means 5b are formed as separate bodies.
