PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a measuring machine from an automatic measuring and casing apparatus to facilitate maintenance, perform more correct measurement of a box and simplify a structure of a belt conveyer. SOLUTION: Fruit discharge port update processing can switch over a fixed fruit discharge port and a free fruit discharge port so that the free discharge port can be flexibly set according to a casing status and a fruit discharge status. When grading is to be performed in twelve classes, although twenty-four ports which is a multiple of twelve should be provided as fixed discharge ports normally, only twelve fixed discharge ports and an appropriate number of additional free ports as three or four need be prepared. At first, a grader 24 discharges fruits to the fixed discharge ports, so that three free ports are empty. When the last mandarin K is discharged to a box at the fixed discharge port and one box has been completely filled, a free discharge port additionally provided for the fixed port is switched over and an empty port is searched for free assignment, so as to subsequently transfer discharged fruits to another port elsewhere.
