PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize accurate control in the quantity of light for attaining a high image quality in a print engine easily using an LSI circuit. SOLUTION: A differential pixel modulation signal is inputted to a DFF1 performing a frequency division operation at the edge and a pulse delay circuit 2 and the Q output from the DFF1 is converted through a differentiation circuit 3 into a differential signal. Output from the pulse delay circuit 2 is inputted to a pulse delay circuit 4. Outputs from the differentiation circuit 3 and the pulse delay circuit 4 are inputted to an EXOR circuit 6 and a pulse delay circuit 5 for tracking the delay time of the EXOR circuit 6. Output signal from the EXOR circuit 6 is inputted to a differentiation circuit 8 outputting a differential pulse signal. Output from the pulse delay circuit 5 is inputted to a pulse delay circuit 7 for tracking the delay time of the differentiation circuit 8 and a differential pulse signal is outputted. The differential pulse signal is outputted through pulse delay circuits 14, 15, an EXOR circuit 16 and a differentiation circuit 17.
