PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-coated plastic lens having good appearance, hot-water resistance and adhesion and capable of imparting higher wear resistance to the surface of the base material. SOLUTION: The surface-protected plastic lens is obtained by laminating a coating resin including at least 50 wt.% acrylic resin containing >=50 mol% repeating units of a specified methacrylic acid derivative as a first layer on the surface of the base material of a plastic lens and disposing a coating layer formed by heat-curing an organosiloxane resin comprising (A) colloidal silica, (B) a product prepared by hydrolyzing and condensing a trialkoxysilane and (C) a product prepared by hydrolyzing and condensing a tetraalkoxysilane as a second layer on the first layer.
