PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering system capable of completely preventing the generation of noise without heightening machining accuracy while easily adjusting the air gap of a torque sensor. SOLUTION: A main shaft 12 is rotatably supported to a column tube 36 through a bearing 38, and an O-ring 40 is disposed between the inner periphery of the bearing 38 and the main shaft 12. In steering, no noise is thereby generated since there is no looseness between the main shaft 12 and the bearing 38, nor is machining accuracy for preventing looseness requested. Since the main shaft 12 can easily slide along the inner periphery of the bearing 38, the gap of a sensor ring 22 can be easily adjusted. |
