PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect quickly the position of a magnetic marker generating a magnetic field by using a simple constitution, regarding magnetic marker detecting equipment and a magnetic marker detecting method. SOLUTION: A plurality of magnetic detecting parts 18 are disposed being arranged in a line in the vehicle width direction of a vehicle 12. The plural magnetic detecting parts 18 output voltages corresponding to the intensity of a magnetic field generated from a magnetic marker 16, respectively. An output voltage Vin of each of the magnetic detecting parts 18 is compared with a prescribed threshold value Vref by using a comparator 22. On the basis of results of the comparison, by using encoders 30-36, a position of the magnetic detecting part 18 which is positioned most adjacently to a magnetic detecting part 180 side whose output voltage Vin is higher than or equal to the threshold value Vref, and a position of the magnetic detecting part 18 which is positioned most adjacently to a magnetic detecting part 1831 side are detected, out of all the magnetic detecting parts 18. A central position of them is detected as a position on which the magnetic marker 16 passes to the vehicle 12.
