SILICA GEL FOR OZONE STORAGE AND METHOD OF PREPARING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare silica gel suitable for ozone storage. SOLUTION: A gel that is a product of neutralization with alkali silicate is washed within a range of pH 6-7 and thereafter is dried and is provided for use, or the produced dried product is further washed with sulfuric acid or water. Evacuation is conducted after oxygen is introduced to the silica gel. Silica gel containing aluminum of 0.1-0.002 wt.% is employed as the silica gel for ozone storage.
