PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent scattering of toner accompaning peeling discharge while preventing generation of ozone. SOLUTION: The image forming device is provided with a secondary transfer means 4 of an intermediate transfer body type image forming device having a contact transfer member 5 which is arranged on the toner carrying face side of an intermediate transfer body 2 so as to come into contact with it, with a counter member 6 which faces the contact transfer member 5 with the intermediate transfer body 2 between them and is arranged so as to come into contact with the intermediate transfer body 2, and with a bias applying means 7 which applies a prescribed secondary transfer bias between the contact transfer member 5 and the counter member 6. In this image forming device, a contact destaticization member 8 is provided which is arranged on the exit side of a transfer nip N formed between the intermediate transfer body 2 and the contact transfer member 5 so as to come into contact with the rear side of the toner carrying face of a recording medium K just after passage through the transfer nip N and has conductivity and is electrically connected to the contact transfer member 5.
