In p articular the present invention relates to a method of treatment of constipation, heartbur n, non ulcer dyspepsia, GERD, and/or esophagitis, with a pharmaceutical composition comprising a safe and effective amount of ellagic acid or pharmaceutically a cceptable salts or esters thereof. Preferably the ellagic acid is administered peroral ly.
