PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a worker to be released from a chip problem and safely performing a working to sink a cutting tool into a work such as a drilling while effectively utilizing the original performance of a machine tool. SOLUTION: This chip dispersion prevention cover comprises a generally cylindrical fixed cover 12 detachable from a tool holder 60 holding a cutting tool 62 and having a chip discharge port 26 on the lower part thereof, a movable cover 14 extendably disposed inside the fixed cover and having a chip discharge port 30 at a position on the fixed cover corresponding to the chip discharge port when overlapped with the fixed cover on the lower side thereof, three or more guide parts 46 having mutually slidable guide 46 and guide bar 44 installed on the fixed cover and the movable cover, respectively, a spring 48 energizing the fixed cover and the movable cover in the direction apart from each other, and a stopper 56 holding the movable cover so as not to be disengaged from the fixed cover.
