PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the hazard of a fire due to leaving a lighted cigarette to stand. SOLUTION: The objective cigarette with extinguishing function has such a construction and scheme that an extinguishing plastic tank 4A hermetically sealed up with water W and readily meltable by the heat of a lighted cigarette is disposed between a cigarette 2 and a filter 3, and one or more flues 6 communicating with both the cigarette side and the filter side are provided outside or inside the tank 4A. Thus, when a lighted cigarette part comes to the vicinity of the front wall of the tank 4A, the front wall is melted and the water is instantaneously sucked into the filter by the aid of a capillarity, resulting in putting out the cigarette, therefore being no hazard of a fire.
