PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly feed a carbon electrode rod forewardly by preventing the racing of the feed roller of a carbon arc therapeutic instrument. SOLUTION: The combustion chamber 3 surrounded by a reflecting plate 2 is provided in a box-shaped case 1 and drive parts 5 are placed behind the combustion chamber. Two rotary shafts 6 and one shaking arm 7 pierce the reflecting plate 2 from the left and right drive parts to extend into the combustion chamber 3 and feed rollers 9 are respectively fixed to the leading ends of two rotary shafts 6 and a pinch roller 10 is supported on the leading end of the shaking arm 7. Fine teeth 9a are carved in the entire peripheral surfaces of the feed rollers 9 so as to prevent the slip of the electrode rod between the feed rollers and grooves 9b having a C-shaped cross section are formed between the tooth parts so as to prevent the detachment of the electrode rod 11. The pinch roller has a semicircular groove 10a provided to the periphery thereof and the electrode rod 11 is caught in the groove so as not to be detached.
