PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting device for furniture which can be effectively used for a partitioning furniture placed to intercept a space between the floor and the ceiling. SOLUTION: The supporting device for furniture is provided with a grounding part 2 for installing, which moves up and down, and a driving means 4 for moving up and down on the bottom of the main body of furniture with at least three wheels 5A, 5B, 6 for moving on the bottom. At least, the wheel 6 for moving is placed at the end of a movable frame 7, which can be pulled out forward from the main body of the furniture. A catching means 39, which catches the movable frame 7 at a position where the movable frame 7 is pulled out, and a housing part 45, in which a driving handle 17 for the driving means 4 for moving up and down is housed, are provided. An interlocking means 46, which switches the catching means 39 into a mode of cancellation of catching when the interlocking means is moved by the handle 17 and switches the catching means 39 into a catching mode when the handle 17 is pulled out, is provided at the housing part 45 for the handle 17.
