PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair dryer which is designed to protect and activate the head skin as well as to protect the hair by using tourmaline ores to generate a sufficient amount of negative ions in an easy way when drying or setting the hair. SOLUTION: This hair dyer has a body 1, incorporating an electric heater 2 and a blower 3, in which the air that has been sucked through an inlet 4 is made to go out of an outlet 5 after being heated. Near the inlet 4, a means for generating negative ions, which is made up of a material containing powdery tourmaline ores is provided.
