PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a method in which the cooling of carbide obtained by dry distillation is favorably achieved without considerably increasing the water content. SOLUTION: The refuse solid fuel is converted to carbide by dry distillation in a prescribed form which results from crushing, drying and molding the refuse into a prescribed form, and after being cooled by the steam of 500 deg.C or higher the carbide is cooled by spraying water.
