The portable, collapsible container (1) is preferably for cold transport and/or storage of goods, especially foodstuffs. It has a rectangular base (2), a lid (3) on the upper side, a peripheral wall (4) with front wall (5), rear wall (6), left-hand side wall (7) and right-hand side wall (8). The base, lid and walls limit a space excluded from the atmosphere for the goods. The front wall and rear wall are formed by stiff panels. The left and right side walls each comprise a rigid pane (7a,7b,8a,8b) hingeable around a vertical hinge lid (13,14) and connected to the front wall. The base is hingeably connected around a horizontal hinge line with the front wall, so that via an angle of virtually 90 degrees it is hingeable between a position along the inside of the front wall and a horizontal position in which the base is located near the underside of the peripheral wall on the inside. The lid is connected hingeably around a horizontal hinge line with the rear wall or the front wall.
