PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To alleviate an operator's burden when printing cannot be executed by a printer A to be printed and printing must be conducted by another printer B, to shorten a color matching time and to eliminate a waste of a printing material. SOLUTION: A method for managing a color of the printer comprises the step of forming a profile representing a color reproducing characteristics of the printer A according to color data of many patches printed by the printer A and a halftone dot areal ratio of each color decided for the each patch. The method further comprises the step of forming a profile representing color reproducing characteristics of the printer B according to color data of the many patches printed by the printer B and a halftone dot areal ratio of each color decided for each patch. The method also comprises the step of obtaining the halftone dot areal ratio of the each color in the case of printing a printed product by the printer B based on the profile of the printer A and the profile of the printer B. |
