A method of lining pipe fittings

Pipe fittings, consisting of bends, elbows, crosses, or tees, are lined with non-corrosive plastic material, e.g. bitumen, by internally cleaning them, introducing a quantity of the lining material in liquid condition, applying temporary closure means, and rotating the fitting about a neutral axis. The fitting may first be internally phosphated, and heated. The Figure shows a bend a which is rotated about the axis x, y and has a hole d in one closure cap c for the insertion of the lining material.
