Isolating and reducing noise generated by mechanical data storage devices

A noise reductions system reduces noise associated with vibrations of mechanical data storage devices ("MDSDs"). The noise reduction system includes a mounting plate that receives one or more MDSDs. One or more isolation mounts connected to the mounting plate connect the mounting plate to a structure of a device including the one or more MDSDs. Each isolation mount permits motion of the mounting plate relative to the structure, which motion reduces transmission of vibrations from the one or more MDSDs to the device including the structure.
