A method for producing a compound represented by the general formula (VI): (VI) wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a linear or branched aliphatic alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R2 represents a hydrogen atom or methyl group, R3 represents a hydrogen atom or methyl group, and R4 represents a halogen atom. The method can be advantageously used for producing a novel peptide derivative in a commercial process.
