PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extremely easily and exactly detect the end point of use and time for exchange of an aromatic/deodorizer. SOLUTION: This method for using the aromatic/deodorizer is a method for housing the aromatic/deodorizer into a container having an open part, volatilizing the aromatic and deodorant components in the aromatic/deodorizer agent from this open part and imparting an aromatic and deodorant effect, in which a plurality of gelatinous moldings molded to polyhedrons of >=2 mm3 in volume are housed as the aromatic/deodorizer into the container and the end point of use of the aromatic/deodorizer is detected by the contraction state of these gelatinous moldings. This aromatic/deodorizer consists of a plurality of the gelatinous moldings formed to >=2 mm3 in volume and is used in the method described above. Accordingly, the detection of the end point of the use is easy with the aromatic/deodorizer agent used in the method described above, and if the container formed in such a manner that the aromatic/deodorizer housed therein is visible from the outer side is used, the extremely easy and exact judgment of the end point of the use and the time for the exchange of the aromatic/deodorizer is possible from outside the container and in addition, the excellent aromatic and deodorant effect may be sustained and exhibited for a long period of time and the appearance is good.
