PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component measuring device capable of measuring a prescribed component in blood accurately and securely in a short period of time. SOLUTION: The component measuring device 1 mainly comprises a main body 2, a finger rest part 3, a puncture means 4 stored in a housing 5, a chip retracting mechanism 6, a pump 8, an electromagnetic valve, and a measuring means 7 for detecting collection of blood and measuring a prescribed component in the collected blood. The chip 13 is mounted on the housing 5, and the top of the chip 13 is sealed with a finger pressing against the finger rest part 3. By pressing an operation button 222, a puncture needle of the chip 13 punctures the finger tip, and the pump 8 reduces the pressure inside the housing 5 and the punctured part. Then blood is sucked from the punctured part and when the collection of blood is detected, the pump 8 is stopped, the electromagnetic valve opened, the reduced pressure condition released. After that, the prescribed component of blood is measured by the measuring means 7, processed by a control means 11, and the result of the measurement is displayed on a display part 12.
